Ed Bighead

Edward "Ed" Drumstick Bighead is a fictional character in the television series Rocko's Modern Life. He is the husband of Beverly Bighead, the father of Rachel Bighead, the next door neighbor of Rocko, and is an antagonist (or the closest thing to one, but reforms in Static Cling) of the series. He is voiced by Charlie Adler.

Personality

Ed is shown to be bossy, nasty, hostile, antagonistic, unfriendly, petty, and grumpy, but fears his wife Bev and his boss Mr. Dupette. He is known to dislike Rocko, Spunky, Heffer, and Filbert and yells at anyone he sees and grumbles bitterly under his breath at any situation he finds even slightly troubling.

There were even rare occasions where he had a bad relationship with his daughter Rachel, such as when she did not want to follow in his footsteps and when she came out as a transgender woman. They eventually made amends when Rachel came to Ed and Bev's anniversary party and when Rocko reminds her that he can't get rid of his own daughter. Ed's catch phrase is "I hate my life." which is usually said when he gets his comeuppance.

Despite his grumpy and unpleasant personality, Ed is not without soft sides, and with help from Rocko and Rachael, he is able to see the error of his ways. In later episodes of the series, especially in Static Cling, Ed is eventually on better terms with Rocko and becomes much more friendly, even telling him that there's more to life than The Fatheads and encourages him to embrace change and the people they are with.

Looks

Ed has green skin, blue lips, has a few hairs on his head and usually wears a white shirt under brown dungarees and a black bow tie. Ed was once known as the handsomest man in O-Town until a blender accident that was caused by Heffer when he was the Bighead's newspaper boy.
